Who can apply?
All high school students residing in the city of Columbus are encouraged to apply but preference will be given to those in the four target neighborhoods: Franklinton, Hilltop, King-Lincoln Bronzeville, and South Side.

When is the deadline to apply?
All applications should be submitted no later than 6:00 PM on Friday, July 8th.

What happens if the cohort I select is already full?
Your application will be shared with any cohorts with openings. The cohort facilitators will work together to find a spot for you if openings, schedules, and transportation allows. If not, you'll be added to the waiting list for the cohort that was your first choice.

What skills and experience do I need?
Prior experience creating art or using technology to enhance artwork may be helpful but is not required to participate. Just come with an open, engaged mind and a willingness to learn!

How much does it cost?
This program is being provided at no cost to students because of generous funding from the City of Columbus.

How do I get the $200 stipend?
Students who are selected for the program must complete the course and submit the required paperwork (pre- and post-program assessment, and IRS form W-9) to receive the stipend.

Will transportation be provided?
Parents/Students are responsible for arranging transportation to and from the place of instruction.

How many sessions are there?
There will be 10 sessions for instruction and a final event to encourage community engagement with the program and its young artists.

Which sessions do I have to attend?
Because there are a limited number of spots available for each cohort, it’s important that selected students attend ALL sessions.

Where can I find the schedule?
Each cohort will have a different schedule based on the availability of the instructor(s) and the site(s) where instruction and artwork will take place. Please visit the appropriate cohort page in the menu above for details.

What should I bring with me to sessions?
All materials required for instruction and hands-on activities will be provided to the students. Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and any other personal items that they may need throughout the day.

Can I bring a friend?
Only the students that applied and were selected are allowed to attend the instructional sessions. Friends and family will be invited to the community engagement event at the end of the program.
